Henry, I paid a one-off to Hertz last summer for a young man to open up the office to let me have my car. I can't honestly remember how much it was, but when I worked it out, it was better doing that than getting a transfer to my flat and then having to get the car the following day.
Hi folks - we're looking to hire a car from Varna airport end of April. The cheapest I can find are a company called Beneluxcar. Small car hire one week for approx £121, as opposed to £200 from Hertz. Anyone heard of these? Don't want to end up with an old cronk which is likely to break down half way to Sunny Beach! Annette

We use www.bulgariacarrent.com, although we have ours delivered direct to GOE. Very happy last time. They do the airports as well- not sure about out of hours, should be on the website.
Hi all - I have used www.motoroads.bg they are an agent for local car hire centers. They will drop off out of hours and even drive you to your destination if you dont feel comfortable driving at night. I have used them twice and have booked a 3rd time through them this time round in May, just check the paperwork sometimes it has error in it. But they have always turned up.
